![]() Hope this helps any others who had same trouble as me. Short answer is yes, however, as I mentioned we are using Exchange 2010, so the webmail interface is not only outdated, it even won’t allow you to have a decent email signature as it has a limit of characters in webmail configuration, so I needed to use an email client if I really wanted to be able to use the email the way I needed. Port: 1025 (note added the 10 in front to match the same in Davmail settings) User: loginname (same as your mail login user name) Server: localhost ("localhost" is used if Davmail is running locally which in my case it is) Port: 1143 (note added the 1 in front to match the same in Davmail settings) DavMail gateway is implemented in java and should run on any platform. Thus any standard compliant client can be used with Microsoft Exchange. User Name: loginname (same as your mail login user name) Owned by: Alexandre Rossi <> Severity: wishlist. We have found some solutions to remove this particular error, which we have mention below We have deleted the NodeStructureSetting registry entry from the location HKEYCURRENTUSER + Software + Microsoft + ExchangeServer + v14 + AdminTools + NodeStructureSettings, after delete logoff/logon the Server but failed to open EMC.Server Name: localhost ("localhost" is used if Davmail is running locally which in my case it is) OWA(Exchange)URL: (note that the URL must be appended with /exchange/ for Exchange server 2003 or older and with /owa/ for Exchange 2007) While this addon does work, it causes Thunderbird to be extremely. Hear are the settings that have it working. I used this for a while, in the hopes to avoid having to use DavMail to access exchange. This is improved in Thunderbird 3, which went into its fourth beta release a few days ago.Jcampen wrote:Ok! I have it all sorted and have Thunderbird working with Davmail and thanks to the guy at Davmail. This solution seems to work OK, but I noticed some issues with the HTML email editor. I did, however, run into a defect and workaround installing Lightning. ![]() Lightning and DavMail are downloaded and installed the same way as on Windows. Having proven this configuration under Windows I installed Ubuntu in a VM and used Synaptic to install Thunderbird. 18 / 19 20 package 21 22 import davmail. 14 15 You should have received a copy of the GNU General Public License 16 along with this program if not, write to the Free Software 17 Foundation, Inc., 51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02110-1301, USA. I took this home and it worked as expected: I could send and receive mails and had a limited address book. See the 13 GNU General Public License for more details. To work around not having the Exchange address book offline I installed Email Address Crawler which instantly scooped every to or from address from my existing mails into an address book. This is supposed to be fixed in a later release. Trying to replicate the directory for offline access did not work for me, however. With the address book available autocompletion works also. Instead I configured a Thunderbird address book to directly access Active Directory, which works only locally on the LAN. I couldn’t figure out how to use DavMail LDAP, the documentation is too cryptic. To configure CalDAV I specified a CalDAV location of /calendar To configure SMTP for outgoing mail I specified localhost port 1025, not 25. Seems to work rather nicely - good work In case it matters, the system davmail runs on is OpenIndiana 151a7 (a Solaris derivative), and I have it using Java 1.7.017-b02. To configure IMAP in Thunderbird all I had to do was specify a server name of localhost and port of 1143, not 143. Exchange 2010 here, so Im trying out davmail-4.3.0, using the 'EWS' mode running in 'standalone server' mode. DavMail setup is straightforward, following the instructions on it’s website, all I had to provide was the OWA URL. Thunderbird installation is straightforward, Lightning is installed from Thunderbird’s ‘Tools/Add-ons’ menu.ĭavMail is an Exchange gateway that wraps standard protocols like IMAP around the proprietary interfaces to Exchange. Lightning will be integrated into Thunderbird 3. Download DavMail, Exchange 2003 is really old, time to upgrade but DavMail will fill in the hole for now. Thunderbird is a cross platform email client, Lightning is a calendering add-on. Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2010 and Apples mail are compatible with Exchange server 2007 and Exchange server 2010, which is why they dont work in your case.
